About Me

Hi, I’m Lorna, and I know first-hand how important it is to find the right school for a child with additional needs. I’ve been through the assessments, the meetings, and the endless conversations while searching for the right settings for my own children. That experience shapes everything I do and why I’m so passionate about supporting other families on the same journey.

Qualifications & Experience

  • MA Education
  • 10 years teaching in state primary school
  • Qualified in SpLD

Independent, experienced, supportive

My background is in Education: I taught for 10 years in a state sector primary school where I was head of a large Key Stage 1 department. After completing a Master’s degree in Education and having my three children, I also qualified to provide learning support for children with specific learning difficulties (SpLD).

Crucially, I have direct personal experience of the importance of choosing the right school for a child with additional needs, having navigated numerous assessments and consultations with a range of professionals before finding appropriate schools for my sons.

How can I help?

Personalised Support for Every Learner

As an independent educational consultant, I care deeply about helping parents find the school environment where their child can truly flourish. I work with families of children and young people of all ages and needs, including autism, dyslexia, ADHD, ADD, PDA, emotional or behavioural challenges, OCD, high ability, general learning difficulties, and physical or sensory differences.

My role is to listen, understand each child as an individual, and guide families toward the settings that can best support their unique strengths and challenges.

“Thank you so much for your assistance in finding residential provision for my son. He loves the vocational pathway in animal husbandry, and is being fully supported for his therapeutic needs. Now he has a life of his own with friends his age.”

Lorna has been caring, professional and non-judgemental

From the outset Lorna has been caring, professional and non-judgemental, and committed to helping me find the most appropriate education for him.  I had what I thought were a lot of “silly” queries and they have never been treated as such.
